Cryogenic Tank Heads
These aluminum parts are Outer Heads for cryogenic containers. These parts require consistent wall thickness throughout as well as a consistent diameter for proper assembly. A smooth surface finish provides an excellent base for high gloss metallic paint.
Shroud
This aluminum hemisphere is used to house a surveillance camera. Precise positioning for four mounting holes and two half moons are critical. The high gloss powder coating completes the part.
Tank Head
Both of these Tank Heads are used in the cryogenic industry. These stainless steel parts are formed with the side holes and center extrusion added as secondary operations. As components of high pressure vessels, these parts must be free from scratches.
Carousel Hub
This unique Hub is formed from one piece rather than two – a cone welded to a flange. The large flange, extending from the cone, requires a flatness of .030″ to allow for proper alighing of mounting components. A uniform brush finish addresses both cleanliness and cosmetic requirements.
Bell
This aluminum part is used as a horn. The beaded edge ensures safe handling and increased strength. The light brush finish provides an attractive appearance.
Ripple Shade
This aluminum lamp shade, for outdoor lighting, is first spun to create the funnel shape, followed by press forming of the ripples. This unique shape is one of many possible by combining spinning and press forming operations.
Mounting Bracket
This aluminum part is the top mounting bracket for a liquid oxygen system. The Bracket features a flared skirt, angled cut-off and unique hole shapes.
Rod Holder
This fishing rod holder is formed from aluminum tubing. One end is flared out while the other end is tapered in. Secondary operations include polishing and hole piercing.
Venturi and Shade
The aluminum Venturi on the left channels air flow in car wash dryers. The hourglass shape, called a re-entrant contour, requires a unique approach to tooling since the part becomes trapped on the tooling during forming. The aluminum part on the right is a lamp shade for outdoor light. Note the “collar” feature at the […]
Pointed Cone
Cones are a common shape for spinning. This aluminum cone is unusual due to its steep angle and pointed nose.
